Lochlea Distillery Virtual Tasting
On Thursday, June 27, Whisky Drop and Gold Medal Marketing hosted a virtual (from Edmonton), connecting us all to Scotland's Lochlea Distillery, (Midnight their time).
Located on a family farm in the heart of Ayrshire and the ancestral home of Robbie Burns, Lochlea distils and matures their single malt Scotch whisky using barley grown and harvested on the very farm where Burns lived.
At this tasting we were joined by Commercial Director, David Ferguson, who was responsible for bringing the Lochlea brand to market and now manages global sales for the distillery. David guided us through some exceptional expressions from the portfolio of this award-winning, Lowland distillery.
Members of the Academy of Single Malt Whisky Explorers were invited by Mike Brisebois, of the Whisky Explorer Society, to take part in a very special “Virtual (ZOOM) Event” with Ian Palmer, the chairman and brainchild behind the Inchdairnie distillery, in Scotland.
Ian had a vision, to build a distillery with equipment that breaks the mold, capable of reaching flavours not normally accessible.

This was an exciting opportunity, to share with many other whisky lovers all across Canada, in the discovery of Rye Whisky like you have never experienced it before.
In order to pay-forward the kindness of Inchdairnie, a “Free-will” offering for the Food Bank was gratefully received at time of pick up and raised $820 for the Food Bank.
