Tullibardine’s history of brewing and distilling dates back to 1488, when King James IV of Scotland stopped by the site, a brewery at the time, to purchase beer. This was recorded as the first public purchase of beer in Scotland.

Founded by Sir Alexander Ramsay in 1824, Fettercairn is a Highland distillery known for the innovative cooling rings on its pot stills and its distinctly fruity and savoury spirit.
Always experimenting, Alexander Ramsay also had the foresight of his Scottish Oak Project, utilizing the Fettercairn forests.
In 1966, Tamnavulin-Glenlivet Distillery Co. Ltd, a subsidiary of Invergordon Distillers Ltd. built the Tamnavulin distillery in response to the growing demand for malt whisky by blenders such as Whyte & Mackay, Crawfords, and Mackinlay's.
